Coffee Shop Engagement Photos

A Coffee Shop Engagement

A coffee shop engagement session turns into an intimate and authentic experience as the couple embraces the unexpected storm, surrounded by the sound of rain, aroma of coffee and the warmth of the café. The final photos capture their love story and the special ambiance of that moment.

This is an engagement session DERAILED.

As I waited for my couple in the bustling coffee shop, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. I had planned the perfect engagement session for them, with random patches of greenery within the heart of the city as the backdrop. The plan was for us to grab some coffee before we departed, but little did I know that fate had other plans in store for us.

Troy and Jess had just gotten engaged, and they were eager to celebrate their love and tell the world about it with beautiful engagement photos. They had been dating for years and finally found the perfect ring, the perfect moment, and the perfect words to express their love. And now it was time to celebrate their engagement with a stop at the very coffee shop where they first met.

While I was waiting I get a text that says “We are on foot just around the corner!”…

That’s when the Earth suddenly shook with the most bodacious crack of thunder you’ve ever heard. Lightning, torrential rain, both instantly.

Jess and Troy (along with a horde of others) run towards the coffee shop and kick in the door only be to be absolutely soaked anyways. Where the coffee shop was already crowded, now it is impossibly full. And the weather radar says rain for the next hour.

So, what do we doWe have our engagement session tethered to a lone table featuring warm mugs, tight spaces, genuine emotion, all while being surrounded by a crowd you’d usually only find at a concert.

As they sat down soaked to the bone, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and they could feel the warmth of the café filling them up. Everyone around us was chatting, laughing, and enjoying their coffee. The sound of the raindrops hitting the windows and the cozy ambiance of the café added to the unique atmosphere of the shoot.

Rather than let the tight space and chaotic atmosphere dampen their spirits, they used it to their advantage. As their photographer, I suggested that they embrace the intimate setting and use it to capture the authentic emotions of their love story- it was a special place to them after all.  I asked them to share their favorite memories together, to whisper sweet nothings to each other, and to simply be in the moment, enjoying each other’s company.

I captured candid shots of them as they laughed and smiled, sipping on their warm mugs of coffee and taking in the sights and sounds of the crowded coffee shop. The bustling atmosphere, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the genuine emotions they shared, all added to the unique ambiance of the photos. And in the end, the final photos were a beautiful and authentic representation of their love story, captured in an unexpected and unforgettable way.

As we were about to finish the session, a slice of sunshine broke through the clouds, and the café was suddenly bathed in a warm and golden light. It was as if the sun was shining just for them, a perfect end to a unique and unforgettable experience.

They walked out of the coffee shop, arm in arm, and the rain had stopped. We took a few more photos outside, surrounded by the beauty of the city. The wet pavement glistened in the sunlight, and the green patches of nature looked even more vibrant after the rain.

As I looked at the photos later, I could feel the warmth of the café and hear the sound of the storm. The photos were not just a representation of their love story, but also of the unique ambiance and atmosphere of that special moment. The coffee shop engagement session had turned out to be a perfect and unexpected way of celebrating their love, and the memories of that day would stay with them forever.

Eventually you’ll have to say hello 😛
